Blood clinics are now run Tuesday to Thursday inclusive from 08:30 to 12.00 & Wednesday afternoon – 14:00 to 15:30. The practice has 2 phlebotomists who run these clinics and you will need to contact the surgery with regards to booking an appointment for this clinic. If you have been given a blood form please bring it with you when you book in at reception on the day of your appointment. We will only undertake bloods that have been requested by a clinician.

Other Samples

These can be left in a box situated on the reception desk. They need to be deposited before the collection time (usually late morning).

Please wait 7 days before contacting the Practice for your results. Please ring after 11 am.

Cervical Smear Results

Our cervical smear samples are sent to Derby for testing. Due to a capacity problem with this service it is taking from 12 to 18 weeks for the result to come through.

The Practice will write to you with the results of your smear and any further action if required. 

You will also receive a copy of the result from NHS England.

An X-ray is a widely used diagnostic test to examine the inside of the body. X-rays are a very effective way of detecting problems with bones, such as fractures. They can also often identify problems with soft tissue, such as pneumonia or breast cancer.

If you have an X-ray, you will be asked to lie on a table or stand against a surface so that the part of your body being X-rayed is between the X-ray tube and the photographic plate.

An X-ray is usually carried out by a radiographer, a healthcare professional who specialises in using imaging technology, such as X-rays and ultrasound scanners.
